Provincial Championships

Western Cape Basketball Association Coaching Development Nelson coaching 2The Provincials brings together the best players from each Western Cape Basketball Association District to compete to be the best District team in the province. Players to participate in the Provincials are selected to represent their Districts by their District Associations during their District trials. The Provincials are also used to select players for the Provincial team to represent the Western Cape Basketball Association in the National Championships. The Provincials are held 6 months before the National Championships to give the Provincial Teams adequate time to prepare for the National Championships. Provincials are organised in the following categories for both Male and Female athletes.

Western Cape Basketball Cup

WBL-zoneIn the CUP Competition, the best Clubs from the Western Cape Basketball Association Districts get to fight it out for the best Club Team in the Province. The Clubs to compete in the competition consists of the four top teams from each District League. The CUP consists of both the Male and Female athletes in the below categories and is held in December of each year after the resolution of the District Leagues.

Western Cape Basketball 3X3 Challenge

FIBA

This exciting and growing format of the game is played in January of each year. The top ten Senior Men and Women teams in the Western Cape Province get to battle it out to be WC 3X3 Kings and Queens. Winners of this tournament will represent Western Cape in the national 3X3 competition used to qualify for the FIBA 3X3 competition.
